SimIS, Inc is an 8(a) Information Technology services corporation focused on developing innovative approaches and solutions in two of the fastest growing Information Technology sectors - Modeling and Simulation and Information Security. Mr. Johnny Garcia
founded the company in 2007 after working as the Chief Technology Officer for General Dynamics. One of the services SimIS provides is an “ethical hacking” service which conducts network vulnerability assessments to determine the ease at which a predatory "hacker" could access a secure network. The company provides these services to government contractors such as
Joint Forces Command, NASA, the Departments of Defense and Commerce as well as many commercial and private businesses. Based on a recommendation by Congressman Bobby Scott, Mr. Garcia selected Portsmouth as his company headquarters. Now, three years later, SIMIS has 47 employees and is projected to gross $20 million in business by the end of the year.
